The increasing number of wound care products that are now available - combined with their increasing complexity - require specialized nursing knowledge and skills. Adventist Home Health provides care for many types of problem wounds.

Program Goals

• Increase patient independence and comfort with proper wound management
• Increase patient and family knowledge of wound care, as well as the prevention of future wounds
• Reduce the incidence of wound recurrence, wound complications and infection
• Increase the healing rate and decrease the length of home care service

• Assessment of wounds and risk factors
