Providing a high volume of charity care impacts the hospital's ability to reinvest in new medical technology and facility maintenance. Providing such care while continuing to maintain a high level of medical excellence requires that community business leaders and private donors be active participants in the process of ensuring that quality acute health care remains available to all.
