In order for more patients to benefit from these advances, Washington Adventist Hospital has devoted a full range of medical services delivered by our highly skilled staff. At our hospital, the most sophisticated and modern techniques are integrated into deeply compassionate care inclusive of the patient and support systems.
A Commission on Cancer Accredited Program
Washington Adventist Hospital’s Cancer Program has received a three-year accreditation with commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC). Only 25% of all hospitals in the U.S. are accredited, of which only a minority exceed standards, to receive commendation. It is estimated that approximately 80% of all newly diagnosed cancer patients are treated in CoC-accredited cancer program facilities. We believe this further demonstrates our commitment to quality care and ongoing improvement.
The oncology program at Washington Adventist Hospital covers every aspect of cancer treatment from prevention, early detection, pre-treatment evaluation, staging, multi-modality treatment, rehabilitation and post-treatment monitoring. Both inpatient and outpatient services are available to accommodate a range of patient needs and preferences.
