CT and MR Imaging

CT and MR Imaging provide diagnoses and treats head, neck and spine disease. An array of advanced diagnostic and minimally invasive surgical procedures are offered.

Patient Conditions:

• Cerebrovascular disorders, including stroke, aneurysms, vascular malformations, carotid stenosis
• Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
• Head, neck and spine tumors
• Traumatic injuries

Evaluations:

• Biopsy of bony or soft tissue lesions
• Cardiac CT scan for calcium scoring
• CT scans of the entire body
• MRI/MR angiography
• Myelography under CT guidance

Diagnostic x-ray (Imaging)

Diagnostic x-ray (Imaging) provides detailed radiologic examination of the musculoskeletal system using a variety of technologies. Diagnostic radiologists work closely with other departments for comprehensive patient management.

Patient Conditions:

• Disorders of musculoskeletal system, including ligaments, tendons, muscles and bones
• Fluoroscopic examinations of the GI tract

• X-ray of the skeleton
• Tomographic evaluation
• Arthrogram studies of major joints and prosthetic joints
• CT, MRI and ultrasound evaluation of the musculoskeletal system

Mammography

Mammography provides comprehensive breast screening and diagnostic services in conjunction with a team of medical, surgical and pathology specialist. We offer the Breast Screening Program to help low income, underinsured women 40 years and older in the Maryland area fight the battle against breast cancer. The program provides free screening services to under-served women who may otherwise do without these services due to income and insurance limitations.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine provides services on an inpatient and outpatient basis and diagnoses for bone, lung and cardiac disease. An array of advanced diagnostic procedures are offered.

Special Procedures (Angiography)

Special Procedures (Angiography) provides and treats head, neck and spine disease with an array of advanced diagnostic and minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Patient Conditions:

• Head, neck, and spine tumors
• Cerebrovascular disorders, including stroke, aneurysms, vascular malformations, carotid stenosis

Evaluations:

• Head (brain)
• Vascular
• Spinal pain management and evaluation including discography, facet and SI joint injections, epidural steroid and selective nerve root injections
• Biopsy of bony or soft tissue lesions

Ultrasound (sono)

Ultrasound (sono) provides safe, non-invasive imaging technique that uses sounds waves to produce images of the body’s organs. Since no radiation is involved, it is a safe procedure for pregnant women. Washington Adventist Hospital, a fully accredited ultrasound facility, offers a full range of ultrasound testing as well as ultrasound-guided biopsies and Doppler studies.
