Next Century Health
Healthcare reform is causing uncertainty, raising fears and prompting a real-life drama playing out in our nation’s healthcare system. Adventist HealthCare is focusing on what’s most important – continuing its legacy of delivering innovative models of community-based care to foster health, wellness and mitigate chronic illness.
NCH Overview
Next Century Health is Adventist HealthCare’s commitment to serving as a leader to transform healthcare. Based on a heritage of whole-person health and healing, the Next Century Health (NCH) initiative serves as a forward-looking platform that identifies, encourages, and implements innovative solutions that improve the health of people and communities nationwide.
Beginning in Maryland, NCH is focused on:
- Relocating Washington Adventist Hospital to our 21st Century campus in White Oak next to the newly consolidated U.S. Food and Drug Administration and LifeSci Village
- Furthering the relationship and Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
- Working in close collaboration with the development of the LifeSci Village and creation of the East County Center for Science and Technology
- Redeveloping the Takoma Park campus to serve as The Village of Education, Health and Well-being
These and other Maryland-focused projects are the initial key priorities of Next Century Health. This platform will create opportunities for collaboration among academic, government, healthcare, and life science organizations. This vision will be a catalyst to advance both innovation and collaboration with thought leaders from around the globe.

Next Century Health Leadership Forums will approach issues on how the healthcare industry can innovate and focus on whole-person care, community-based collaboration and individual empowerment.
A lively panel discussion and the goals that Next Century Health partners and stakeholders included:
