Preserving & Expanding
Access to Health Care

As part of our Vision for Expanded Access initiative, Adventist HealthCare has purchased land to relocate Washington Adventist Hospital near White Oak along the border of Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. This will help to preserve and expand access to health care for the communities we serve.
- Location: The new hospital will be located on a 48-acre parcel of land off Plum Orchard Drive and Cherry Hill Road.
- Modern Medical Campus: The new site will include a state-of-the-art hospital along with supporting physician offi ces, medical service buildings and ample parking.
- More Accessible: The site is more centrally located in the hospital’s service area and is more accessible from major roads (Route 29/Capital Beltway/I-95).
- Challenges with Takoma Park Campus: The Takoma Park facility is aging. The campus is crowded, is located in a residential community, has little room for parking and is accessible only by narrow, two-lane roads.
- Expanding Access: The hospital is working with the local community to develop plans for the reuse of the Takoma Park campus, including retaining health-care services.
- Approvals: The hospital requires local zoning and state regulatory approval before it can
begin construction.
The new facility and the reuse of the Takoma Park campus will allow us to strengthen the region’s health care infrastructure, ensure the hospital has a strong future, and provide improved access to care for all of the communities we serve.
